Rice grain porcelain is a traditional Chinese porcelain technique dating back to the Ming dynasty. (A.D. 1368). It is characterized by a refined and translucent finish. Adopting this traditional craftsmanship, RICE plays with the subtle contrast between glazed and un-glazes finishes to create a set of daily dinnerware and tea set with a delicate sophistication. Savoring tea is a delight that intellectuals have used since ancient times to reach a [nbsp]state of calmness. The Gaiwan, consisting of a lid, a cup and saucer, is an object with a long tradition, essential to enjoying tea. Drinking this hot beverage has become an indicator of prestige. The elaborate tea ceremony has become a way to relate to the lives of intellectuals of the past, as well as an introduction to Chinese culture. RICE TEA was developed in cooperation with a Taiwanese tea master. The set consists of a Gaiwan, a Cha Hai as well as tea cups and is made from fine porcelain.
